Name: Kenneth Alan Boyd Ramsay Username & e-mail: cx555 Info: I built my first digital computer in 1960. It was a "Geniac"(q.v. - quod videre - Latin for "which to see": http://www.computermuseum.li/Testpage/Geniac-Home-Computer-1955.htm). A hard-wired, wired-or, single-purpose computer that could play tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses/Xs and Os). No RAM, no transistors, and really tacky switching, but it worked! I went on to work as a Chemical Engineer, but always kept an interest in both analog and digital computers. Since 1985, I have had a (now-moribund) electronic repair business. There isn't much money to be made fixing old computers, but it's a shame to scrap them if they can find a good use. I can see that both I and the TFN could use a better business plan than just hanging on to the "trailing edge" of technology. As a former member of the Board, and occasional volunteer, I support the TFN's mission to bridge the gap between those who can easily afford to connect to the Internet and those left out. I "fell out of the loop" for a few years, dealing with problems with my own health, then sickness and deaths in my family. Things seem to be looking up, and I hope to be able to contribute more in the future. I waited before posting this, to see how many were going to stand for election. We could use some "new blood" on the Board. Any volunteers? --- Boyd Ramsay
