It has been a decade since TFN's last AGM! 4 years since the board of directors last met. The position of treasurer has been vacant forever. All this is beyond disgraceful; it is absurd.
If elected to the board, and for as long as I remain on the board, I will under no circumstances let this travesty re-occur. The next AGM will happen, at the latest, by end of November next year. And the board will meet at least monthly, if I get any say in the matter. And I have to believe that, somewhere amongst TFN's members, we can find someone willing to be treasurer.
Last spring, when I accepted the role of IS manager, I made it a written condition that an AGM be held by this November, or I would resign. I am ecstatic that this has actually, finally happened! Now, it is up to all of us, TFN members, to make the most of it. If you want or need this organization to stick around, do your part: donate your time and your skills. You can run for the board or you can lend a hand in other ways — contact me about volunteering. At the very least, use this opportunity to try to elect a board who will actually hold meetings.
It's up to you.
